4.8 Filling and inserting the magazines

• Filloneofthemagazines(48) with slides (49).

While doing so, ensure that the surface to be

imprinted (50) is on the left and facing upwards

(Fig. 23).

• Sothatthespecimenslidesareejectedcor-

rectly, ensure that the specimen slides are

inserted into the magazine accurately aligned

above each other (Fig. 26) and at a right angle

to the aperture (Fig. 27).

• Holdmagazine(48) at a slight angle (Fig. 24)

to prevent the specimen slides from falling

out of the magazine. Insert magazine into the

corresponding receptacle as shown. Both pins

(52) of the magazine need to lock into slot (51).
